What's new for Junior Cycle Spanish in 2026?
The new NCCA MFL specification rolling out in September 2026 introduces Mediation as a distinct strand — students must now be able to pass on, summarise and adapt information across languages. Most existing JC Spanish resources were written before this change.
(1.16, 1.17, 1.18)
The first commercial JC Spanish resource to include dedicated activities for all three Mediation outcomes
Every Compártelo page follows the same proven structure: Part 1 — a Mediation scenario where students write the main points in English for someone who needs them; Part 2 — a Spanish expression table and pair-practice so students keep the conversation going. By the end of the book, students have built around 30 functional Mediation expressions across 10 chapters.
Every chapter works for every student
Three differentiation tiers run through the book — not bolted on as appendices. See how the same comprehension task adapts to three levels of ability.
Sample task: After reading Chapter 2 ("En la casa de los Díaz"), describe how Seán feels at the end of his first day.
"Answer in English. How does Seán feel at the end of his first day?" → Students answer in English with one short sentence.
"Responde en español con frases completas. ¿Cómo se siente Seán al final del día? ¿Por qué?" → Students answer in Spanish, explain why, use at least one connector.
"Imagina que eres Pablo. Escribe lo que piensas de Seán después del primer día. Usa al menos un conector (aunque, sin embargo, además)." → Students write 2–3 sentences from another character's perspective, with discourse-level features.

"The first commercial JC Spanish resource to include dedicated activities for all three Mediation outcomes of the 2026 specification."
Compártelo activities feature in 10 of 15 chapters, with three-tier differentiation throughout. Built for Junior Cycle Common Level Spanish in Ireland.
